The stories in this collection are mostly about the Chinese war against the Japanese. Written in a very dramatic way with a theatrical mode of presentation, almost all the stories have an interesting narrative.
Tiger!Tiger! is a very exaggerated story with a cinema quality presentation of the plot as well the characters. The main protagonist in the story is a Chinese girl who has retired home after studying in the States. She comes to know of a local landlord who reigns with an iron hand.
Intrigued rather than being scared of him, she decides to visit him. Things take a turn when she falls in love with the landlord’s son. Soon the couple get married and then its about waging a war on Japan through a plane.
