Bangalore Memories

It is truly at times like these that I feel a major part of my life has gone to waste. I'm talking about my time spent in Bangalore. 5 years I was there but still a large part of the city remains unexplored. College, work and friends usually takes our time ,don't they? and that is a normal way of life...no complaints!

But suddenly being in a distant land away from the garden city ,I feel I could have visited more places. The mall culture caught up with me so much that we just used to explore them. And then ofcourse - shopping! With vices like these and coupling it with laziness, how can you possibly be the backpack traveler one wants to be?

Though, gosh did I have a great time!! I think with each friend of mine I have explored something beautiful and memorable in this wonderful city.  I surely do not miss Bangalore for its 'garden' image which I personally feel aint that much,I miss it for how I feel associated with it. Weekends with my hostel friends, weekdays trip to and fro office, shopping with friends, discovering new places to eat with friends, the neighborhood pani-pooriwala,breakfasts at Udupi joints, being overwhelmed all the time that we used to walk in Brigade Rd (our very own New York) and Cornerhouse trips. Basically memories with lovely people. The location would be the same.

Hence a large part of B'lore remains unexplored by me...and maybe a lot of us like me who get caught in the traffic (literally) and get caught in busy IT lives. The traveler's book of wisdom says its better not to explore everything of every place. Leave some behind so that you wanna come back. I agree, but for reasons more than just tourist motives. I shall still seek that pani-pooriwala in good old hostel area and not a new one elsewhere....coz some travelling is also by the heart.
