Portend the bend in the road

When the disciples asked Jesus to show them a sign that signals his return and end of the world, they were worried and yet curious.

Most of the time we too are like them. We are curious, apprehensive and want to know all. We want to solve everything ahead of coming to the bridge, let alone wait to cross it. Its not enough that our guardians teach us through their mistakes, we still want to 'worry'.

I believe, and this is through many small and big experiences of mine and of my closest ones' life, that, to look ahead in life you do need to look back once. In fact more than once. This is not to say that you should live in your past. Just like you would check both sides of the road before you cross the road, you should in your rational, sane moments take a glance back and remember how a certain situation made you a better ,wiser person. Then take that wisdom again and put it wherever you are stuck. Ready, go.

Our past, sometimes, portends our future. How we are today is a sign of what paths we pave in this journey and ,to quote Anne Shirley, 'the bend in the road' which turns for the better.
