If I were asked to describe a city, I could.
If I were to explain an incident in my past I can.
But if you ask me to describe myself, I become a medical student appearing for CA exam.
Let me try.
I will be random. Thats one of me.
I am all for rawness. I like people, places ,emotions in their natural state if possible. That is not to say that I liek nudes. I like it when people are unmasked, without filters. not standing behind a curtain and preparing. I know we all speak with fillers, even I do. But after a few meetings I like my people to be honest.
I love nature. I feel to be able to live with even a small potted plant in your home or a garden is a blessing. We come from the earth and elements of it are all around us. Dew drops, leaves, rain, sky, sunset. The most photographed, the most wanted and the place where one goes for solace. Think of it, is there any vacation places which isnt nature based? If you have to beautify your home wont there be a plant, artificial or real in your decor option?
Speaking of which, I love my home. I like the purity of the emotion. Home can be your room, your city. Yes, its a universal feeling. We all want our home, a place to call our own. To decorate, to stare. to cry in, to run away to.
I hate snobs.
I hate making a big deal of food, cooking etc. Yes I get excited about a new recipe. Is that making a big deal of food? Then Im guilty too. I meant the way food culture has developed over the years. Focus on frivolous things like decoration, aesthetics, where you eat. etc These would have been great if the source of food, the efforts behind it, local produce, safety aspects were also fashionable. Why arent Andhra farmers photographed as much as biriyani is? Why arent there more articles on olive cultivation than pesto recipes are there? Why isnt there a issue raised on the fact that mangoes from India isnt exported as much as mango panna cotta is in Masterchef judges' tables? You will take a selfie with the hot guy who made a brownie but will you appreciate the same when your South Indian mom tries making it?
I like cushions, teapots, mugs, beautiful dishes. I love these more than gold, expensive branded dresses. If my house is on fire I will grab
a) my books
b) passport
c) coffee mugs
I appreciate men or people who wash their own dishes, ask if help is needed in housework, is proactive in house responsibilities. Knowing how to make an omelette, can change a tyre, lift the baby with one hand and paying rent isnt my idea of zimmedari.
well, lots more to rant and rave.
